Anna Schubert: Building Trust & Securing Futures in Financial Services
My deep-rooted passion for the Financial Services Industry transcends professional interest; it's a genuine commitment to empowering New Zealand individuals and businesses to achieve their financial aspirations. I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact that sound financial planning and strategic decision-making can have. At its core, this industry is about more than just numbers; it's about cultivating trust, fostering genuine security, and enabling dreams for our community.
With over 25 years of extensive experience, I've served at senior management levels within the AIA Group, specialising in Distribution leadership. My work has focused on enhancing the impact financial advisers have with their clients, leading significant product and technology redesigns, and personally training thousands of New Zealand's financial advisers to deliver tailored solutions. In 2024, my contributions to shaping the New Zealand financial services landscape were recognised with the "Insurance Business Elite Women in Insurance" award, honouring my leadership and positive influence on the industry's trajectory. I've also actively championed female empowerment within my role at AIA, by leading "Women in Business Sessions" for Financial Advisers and participating in the "Global Women Break Through Leaders" programme. My passion is to see all people succeed, with a dedicated focus on being a conscious leader for females.
I founded Lead Your Life to take a more direct and impactful role in sharing my expertise. This venture allows me to create and deliver exceptional, personalised services that truly make a difference in the lives of those I work with.
Beyond my professional work, my commitment to leadership and community service is evident. As a Patrol Captain at Piha Surf Lifesaving Club, I am deeply involved in volunteering. In 2015, I was honoured with the Life Membership Award for championing female leadership in Surf Lifesaving, as well as my dedication to the sport and the leadership roles I've held within the Club and Northern Region. My professional expertise in risk management, mirroring my role as a Lifeguard, centres on prevention and using strategic foresight to achieve the best possible outcomes, a skillset that seamlessly extends from lifesaving to proactive financial advice.
I've also volunteered as a Judge for the Auckland Chamber of Commerce Business Awards since 2014, specifically in the "Best Emerging Business" category. My expertise and passion lie in the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) market. This role provides me with unique insights into the keys to business success, identifying potential risks, and observing how founders navigate to a solid proposition within their first five years.
This combination of my Senior Leadership role within a large corporation, my experience supporting Financial Adviser businesses, and my judging of Best Emerging businesses provides me with a truly unique expertise: from leading and judging to comprehensively protecting businesses and their invaluable assets.
When I'm not focused on securing financial futures, you'll find me enjoying the best of Piha, my home on the West Coast. I love spending time at the beach or walking my German Shepherd, Sally, in the rainforest. Another passion is exploring New Zealand's incredible natural beauty, whether I'm mountain biking on its many trails or travelling our wonderful country in our motorhome. This grounded approach to life reflects the stable and thoughtful planning I bring to your financial journey.
